Senior Programs Manager

Lailah Zubairi holds a B.A. majoring in Social Anthropology with a concentration and Religious studies from Makerere University. Currently pursuing a Masters degree in Peace and conflict studies at Makerere University.

Lailah Zubairi is a program assistant with the Membership, Partnership and Networking Unit at the Uganda Muslim Youth Development Forum (UMYDF). She supports the programming regarding the Muslim Students Associations (MSAs) and the Quality of Education for Peace Program in high schools.

Prior to joining UMYDF, Lailah spent more than two years in Student development and University activism with the Open Space Center. She spent time working on Students activism programming with Open Space Center in Uganda, working with youth from Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda, Tanzania on peace building projects. She has worked with Corporate Muslims in Uganda. Lailah’s research interests include student’s engagement and civil society in the Universities in East Africa, and drivers of terrorism and conflict in the region.
