KATWE SKILLS CENTRE
PEACE LEARNING CENTRE
The Peace Learning Centre provides foundational and specialised training in topical issues in the fields of Peacebuilding, Conflict Management and Transformation, Prevention of Violent Extremism, Countering of Violent Extremism, and Islam, Justice, Peace and Security. The centre’s training programmes usually take 3 days - 4 weeks, and are delivered by leading subject experts across a wide range of peace and security related specialisations. All classes are highly interactive, experiential, and learner-centered.
YOUTH INTERFAITH PEACE GARDENS AND SPORTS HUBS
HIGH SCHOOL PEACE CLUBS
Through the flagship Peace Education Initiative, Uganda Muslim Youth Development Forum (UMYDF) has reached over 20,700 youth in several public and private schools in Central Uganda and West Nile through establishing peace clubs where it introduces both teachers and students to key skills in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and participatory action research.
COMMUNITY PEACE CLUBS
Initiated in 2023 to complement High school-based Peace Clubs, the Community based Peace Clubs are our new way to empower and equip communities with knowledge and skills in peacebuilding and conflict resolution. The pilot community Peace Club is currently based in Kampala Central Division and has a membership of 50 community members. The initiative is implemented under the Strengthening Youth Voice and Civic action for Peacebuilding in Uganda Project and is supported by Finn Church Aid.
